The meeting of Alain Blesing and Bruno Tocanne is part of that ! As musicians of the same generation who have had similar paths, they both are motived by a continous and furious desire to push the limits, combining fredom and rigor, to move improvised music from an object of enjoyment to existential and even poltical questionnings... The other two musicians Frédéric Roudet and Benoît Keller, already Bruno Tocanne's fellows since a few years, didn't not hesitate to join this "Power quartet". The result is as height as the project and we find there the memories of saturated angry of a Tony Williams' Lifetime, of Miles Davis' tears in the 70', of shrillness of the "Art Ensemble of Chicago"... with the filtre of their european background. Rather than etheral melodies, MAD KLUSTER prefers sonic material, sometimes even joining the territoires of an electrifed rock without conventions..."
